  ELDER SCROLLS FACT: Morrowind let you kill "essential NPCs", and would show a similar message if you do. The game also has a hidden "back path" that lets you reach the finale even if you've killed everyone on your way there as long as a specific NPC is intact. I think this is a really neat feature, shame I can't find any mods like it for Skyrim :("
