"Perseverance found an interesting rock on Mars! It looks like gneiss to me, but metamorphic rocks (like gneiss) require high temp-pressure environments to form and Mars lacks plate tectonics. Everything we’ve seen on Mars so far is mostly igneous or sedimentary. Will be exciting to learn more!"
